For Sage's birthday this year she decided to have a swimming party. She loves to swim, infact she plans on swimming in the Olympics one day....for the Mexican swimming team-her idea! Anyway we packed up ten little friends and cousins and went to the nearest indoor swimming pool. One party down one more to go until next year!

My sister Liza was hear visiting for my Grandma's funeral so she and her son came to the birthday party-it was such a treat! I love the look on Liza's face in this picture!

On January 7, 2010 my Grandma Pearson passed away. She was 88 years old and she will be missed! These pictures were taken in her last days.

The day she died all of my family and cousins gathered at my Aunt Kitty's house. My brother Bryan came, Brandy and Lily didn't know what to think of him

We had the Viewing and Funeral in Sandy so my Grandma's surviving two sisters could attend. It was such a neat funeral. More of a time to celebrate her!

This year our family Christmas party was here, at the Romney household. As a child The Santa Party was such a blast. I'm glad we(my siblings and I) are carrying the tradition on for our children!

Brandy revealed to Santa that she wants drums for Christmas....surpisingly I was relieved, at least the giant Dora doll is off her radar!

This year we decided to do a Nativity, Benji(my little brother) was in charge and he did a fantastic job. The majority of the grandkids-that live here-were involved and it was so neat. I love all of these kids so much! Sage was tickled to be Mary and Brandy was an angel.

My favorite part of the whole night was when Anna-my neice-signed the songs to the hymns we were singing! I could watch her sign all day long! She makes every move so graceful! Oh and she is the ASL teacher at Timpview-she's pretty much awesome!

Now that fall is here I can't help but savour every moment of it! After living in Arizona for four years and having to stage a "pretend" fall I just love every moment of fall here in Utah.

On a picnic up in the canyon. It's amazing how much entertainment leaves and a gentle rolling brook provide!

Over Fall break I went to Thanksgiving Point's Scarecrow Festival with my sister Melissa and my brother Tim-and their families! It was a beautiful day and it is definetly going to become a tradition! We did pony rides, hay rides, inflatables for the kids, face painting, all sorts of fun things!

Can you believe I am already posting AGAIN! Well here is what we did for Labor Day. We went up to South Fork with my parents for a "picmic".....and it was crowded! Lots of people, but so pretty! My Dad picked up some KFC(which I just can't handle eating meat off the bone-but the beans and coleslaw were yummy!) and we enjoyed! I have so many memories of eating KFC in parks with my parents. They also get rootbeer from A and W. They didn't give us cups so Dixie bought some off a fellow picnicker-good job mom! There is a shallow brook that runs by the park and we couldn't resist putting our feet in. And boy was it cold! We also went with Benj and his family-cute kids-good food-good time!

Also at Delbert and Dixie's was a neighbor trotting by who was willing to give the kids a horse ride.

We also went to Jump On It! Lots of fun and relieved that you get to leave after an hour...you can only jump for so long.

Yes people, the day has come that I actually cover up my skin instead of bake in the sun! I figure that I am almost 30 and should probably start protecting my skin a bit! Last year my SIL Leslie sent me this hat from The San Diego Hat Company. I am such a hat person and I think this hat is fabulous!

It is my favorite time of year when my sister from New Jersey comes to visit. One day while she was here we decided to go to the Provo Bakery. I hadn't been there is years! After we each chose our treat we sat out on the grass under a tree and enjoyed our fresh morsel of yumminess! The best part of this story is that it was in the afternoon and we were comfortable in the shade. I still just love the weather here in Utah.

Jayson's little brother Chris got married May 30, 2009 in the Salt Lake Temple. We are so happy for them and we are so happy for Cassi to be in the family! Sage and Brandy were so excited to see" Cassi's wedding"-according to them it was Cassi's wedding-Chris had nothing to do with all of the festivities-it's all about the bride and the dress!

Santa's cookies!!! I think decorating cookies and cupcakes is one of my kids most favorite things to do in the whole world!

When Sage was little we caught her drinking some of Santa's milk, she has decided that she doesn't like milk anymore so Brandy offered to continue the tradition!

A few days ago I decided that we should go to The Nutcracker as a family. I bought some last minute tickets, unfortunately they were on the very back row! I debated about not going, then I decided that it would still be fun, even though we were on the back row! When we got there our "back row" seats didn't exist so we got front row balcony seats(for once my procrastination paid off!) I was a little concerned that the girls would get bored during the show but they both loved it-although Brandy did not like the mice! Jayson agreed that he would go to the ballet once a year! So it is our new family tradition! What will we do if we get a boy next?!!!-No I'm not pregnant!

Last Tuesday we woke the girls up and packed them in the car at 7 am. They had no idea where we were headed. We finally told them we were going to DISNYLAND! We managed to keep it a surprise! Jayson's sister lives in So. Cal and we were going to visit her with all of Jace's family for Thanksgiving. As I look through all of these pictures, it makes me want to go back(not to California-I am not a fan) but it was such a fun vacation, we had so much fun with Jayson's family. Jayson's dad took us all to Disneyland for an early Christmas present. Jayson's dad and his sister both have a hard time walking long distances so they both rented motorized wheel chairs. That meant we didn't have to wait in any lines! The longest we waited was about 10 minutes for the Nemo Submarine. That is the way to do Disneyland! Next time we go I will be injured and will require a wheel chair! Disneyland was decorated for Christmas, the Princess Castle had "snow" on it, it was just a fun time to go!

Why do I make my life so difficult!

I always get ideas in my head, this year for family pictures, it was no different. I had this vision and it's always the more difficult route to bring my vision into reality! For example(there is even a picture of my couches to show you!) I had an idea to get "mocha" colored couches with black cording. I searched all over the world for these couches, finally I had to order them and wait 8 weeks for them to be made. Jayson thought I was crazy, but I knew what I wanted and I'm gonna make sure I get it! Anyway for our family pictures I had all the details in my mind, the color scheme, locations, everything! I wanted this certain color of "aqua" that we searched all over the internet and all over town for. Then, Jayson was thrilled to haul a couch all over the mountains for my vision! Finally it all came together and this is the very satisfied result! P.S. I loved our photographer, she was sooo good! Her link is on my blog list!

Halloween!

Jayson took the girls out trick-or-treating! I had a lot of fun staying home greeting all of the trick-or-treaters at our door! When I was little my Mom always made a "witches brew". I made it this year and it was a lot of fun! The brew is basically a fruity drink with dry ice to make it bubbly and "smokey". Sage insisted she wear her cheap dress-up shoes that looked fabulous with her get-up. After the plastic shoes fell apart they came home for a quick break and she changed into comfy sparkly shoes. Brandy kept telling Jayson "One more house Daddy, just one more house."

Here are some pics of our pre-halloween activities. Sage finally decided she wanted to be a Butterfly Fairy-not princess, you will be corrected if you call her a butterfly princess! And Brandy is a Pirate Princess! We've made Halloween cookies, dressed up for the grandparents, and picked pumpkins from the pumpkin patch! While we were carving the pumpkins the girls were a little leery(is that a word?) about getting their hands in the pumpkin goo, but they warmed up to the idea of getting their hands dirty!

This last week was a lot of fun. On Friday(of last weekend) we went to the Timpview Homecoming football game-Go T-Birds! We thought the girls would love to watch the cheerleaders. It was so fun to be back in my old stomping grounds! Then on Saturday we took the girls to Kangaroo Zoo, I just love the look on Brandy's face whenever she is there. She was so proud of herself for going down ALL of the slides-Sage had to coax her into the big ones! Then in the middle of the week I got together with some of my old roomies from Ricks. It was so much fun, good laughs! Here are three of them, they are just too cute! Then of Friday Jayson had his mission reunion, which turned out really fun. His mission president lives here in Orem, he had a great yard. The kids were in heaven! He had a boomerang for humans(that sounds weird!) that he let people ride on. Here is a picture of Jayson being launched. It was so cute how the mission president was right in there with all of his missionaries having fun, flipping them around his yard.

Ripples: A Greasy Classic!

Ripples is a little drive in fast food dive that everyone we grew up with loves! The menu hasn't changed since I was born, the flavor of the day for shakes is still strawberry(it has been for ten years). I have so many memories of going to ripples for yummy food enjoyed on the dirty tables outside. My niece Anna hadn't yet experienced the tastiness of Ripples so we took her there for lunch a few days ago! We all got the chicken sandwich with the famously good french fries(and fry sauce!), fresh lime drink, and shakes. MMMM it was good!

After much joy and elation over my Bosch washer and dryer, I'm hooked. So out with the kitchenaid and in with the Bosch mixer! Now making bread is a breeze! I've been borrowing my MIL and it is so easy to whip up 5 loaves of bread(my kitchenaid only did 3). I am a happy camper!

This last week Brandy started preschool! She was really excited to go to school just like Sage! I found a school for her in our area that is about the same time as Sage's school, which means, I am a free woman! My plan is to get their scrapbooks done! Anyway, this post was about Brandy going to preschool so we'll get back to the point! She loved it and loved her teacher! She said the first day they talked about thier bodies. She is growing up way too fast!

This last month has made me realize how old I am getting. First, I have a child in kindergarten, then I had my 28th birthday! That just seems so old! I had a good birthday! We went out with some friends, all of the girls had birthdays within two weeks of eachother so we decided that we oughta celebrate! We dragged our husbands out to dessert and had a lot of fun, that Chilies Paradise Pie is still my favorite! On Saturday Jace and I went to lunch, then jeans shopping. I think I tried on about twenty pairs of jeans and finally I found some! Then on my real birthday(Sunday) my mother-in-law invited us over for lunch, and she made my favorite cake! Jayson's Grandma makes a chocolate cherry cake that is my current favorite-I only have a peice twice a day! It's delish! Anyway, Pam MADE my birthday! She is so good at making you feel special on your birthday! Thanks Grammy!

This last Monday was Sage's first day of school. Every once in a while during these last month I would get choked up just thinking about it. It helped to know that she was totally ready emotionally, mentally, and physically. When I was explaining to her that on the first day I would walk in with her and say goodbye, she told me that she could just walk in herself! No need for me! This year she has a great teacher and we are all ready for the schedules to come back into the Romney household. She chose a High School Musical One backpack, she says she wants to start collecting backpacks. She thinks it's so cool that I have a "purse collection" because I have more than one purse. Her next backpack on the list Is a Hannah Montana backpack!

Uncle Cody comes home!

Jayson's little brother came home from his mission in Brazil. Sage loved Uncle Cody. Brandy was only one and half when he left so she didn't really remember him, she only knew him from pictures and that was good enough because she went right to him! All of Jayson's family came to see him return home. At the airport Pam(my mother-in-law) decided we should do the traditional "Cody on a stick" so he knew he was loved! After the airport we went to lunch, which was tasty, although our traditional Outback was closed during the lunch hours, so we settled for Fuddruckers. Utah Lake

Here are some pictures of some of our outings on Utah Lake! That water may look green, but it is so fabulously refreshing! I think that me and my children are not the bravest people in the world. Everyone had to convince me to even go on the tube and Sage and Brandy are good just sitting in the boat! Jayson on the other hand, he makes up for all of us! Thanks Miller's for inviting us along!

Shopping in Park City!

Last weekend we all piled into two cars and headed up to the outlets in Park City. Did I mention that Sage starts kindergarten this year! First school shopping experience as a mother! Good thing I had my sisters and niece with me, they were a big help! It was amazing how many of us could fit into one changing room! The girls favorite part was the park. After all the shopping we had dinner then some Gelato, the kids loved it! Thanks Anna for introducing us to your fav!

Lazy summer days with cousins

What would we do without our cousins! For the last month we have had our cousins here from New Jersey, we had sleep overs, and a constant stream of fun! I think my kids are going to go into denial when summer ends.

I got everyone out of bed to watch the balloon launch, we were at a distance and it was still breathtaking!

Living outside the United States for a few years has opened my eyes to just how great of a nation this is! Traveling around the world has made me realize that we are a truly blessed people, and hands down Provo puts on the best 4th of July! Moving BACK to Utah has been a bit of a culture shock, this 4th of July I was once again surprised at how the people here honor this great country. I am grateful to be an American!

Sage is our fish, she loves to swim. This year she was in a class with older kids, but she really had a lot of fun. She was so proud that she swam in 12 feet!

Brandy got her ears peirced!

A few weeks ago Brandy came up to Jayson and said "Daddy, I want to get holes in my ears, I want to get my ears pierced!" So we hopped in the car and went to the mall. She didn't even cry, she was determined to get her ears pierced After we got the girls lolly pops!

A few weeks ago we moved into a house! Yea!!!! They(my sweet fam) all showed up and we were moved in about four hours! It was a lot of fun too! It was amazing how fast it went because there was so many people to carry boxes anywhere I needed them to go! Here are some pictures of the evening, everyone was so enthusiastic! After putting in some hard work my two cute nephews decided to chill in Grandpa's "Lade". Why didn't we move to Utah sooner! I love the weather, the people(just my family, not in love with all of the Utards!) the mountains, the fact that you can buy food storage in any grocery store! It's fantastic! Don't worry all of you Mexas and Arizona pals, I still miss you! But this is where we should be!

Dance Concert

The girls started dance this last year and they are loving it. Sage is my prim and proper ballerina and Brandy is my hip-hop, shake her booty whenever she gets the chance type of girl! They had so much fun dancing on stage at their concert. I thought Brandy would freeze, but she warmed up and danced! Here are some pics!

Sleep over at Grandma Dixie's!

Because Sage is out of school for the summer the girls wanted to spend the night at Grandma's. They packed up their bags and off they went. At first they decided that Sage would carry all of the blankets and Brandy would carry all of the bags. After Brandy(clearly the strongest choice) successfully lugged two bags up the stairs they decided to split up the load. Here they are walking into Dixie's house.

It always seems like Easter Sunday, Christmas Sunday, and Mother's Day turn out to be the most hectic! This Easter was no different. We woke up late, Brandy was almost impossible to dress, and I was in a bad mood! With all of the craziness I was grateful to arrive at church and enjoy some peace! While we were at church the Easter Bunny did stop by and leave some baskets of treats!

Today while I was at a wedding shower Jayson took the girls on a daddy daughter date. He gave them the option of going to Kangaroo Zoo or bowling, surprisingly they chose bowling! Of course they got their purses out to carry their socks(because who would actually want to wear socks!) and they were off! I wasn't there to witness, but rumor has it that Sage had a strike and Brandy had a moment when: "My didn't hit anything at all!"

On Valentines day we went out to eat at Costa Vida. They have a play place and Sage was having a blast! Brandy on the other hand was too scared because of all the boys playing-she doesn' like boys. So she plopped down on my lap and was playing with the camera. She asked Sage to take a picture of us, meanwhile a little boy crept into the picture, Brandy yelled out "HEY" and put on the most mean face she could come up with! Yea, she's a bully! She's only that brave while sitting on Mom's lap. She was in my arms in the first place because that same boy had "looked at me"-according to her words in-between sobs! My children are so brave, they get it all from me!

Jayson and I get out on dates a lot! So for Valentines Day, last year we decided to make the day of hearts a family event! Jace takes his ladies out for pampering, then we go get some dinner at a non-busy, kid-friendly restaurant! It ends up being a relaxing, stressless evening!

We had Sage's birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's!(WT I know!) She talks about her birthday all year long and thankfully this year she was not disappointed. Her guest list included her cousins and aunts. She chose a Hawaiian theme, which is totally random! I can't believe we have had her for five whole years! My mind thinks back to the memories of driving to the hospital in the middle of nowhere in Mexico. Then after I had her(thank goodness for the English speaking anasthesioligist!) we were leaving the hospital and I remember being overwhelmed with the thought of having a sweet little baby in our care-all the time-forever! Oh the joys! Now I don't want to imagine life without her!

I got out of the shower one day only to find evidence of a tragedy! Scissors on top of the play vanity and hair on the floor! No girls were in sight and I was horified as I hunted them down following bits of hair through the house. I cried, Sage stared at the floor in "Time out" and Brandy cried in confusion because that's what everybody else was doing. I called Jayson for comfort and he laughed and told me someday I would laugh about it too.That day has still not come! In his feeble attemt to comfort me he told me "Amanda we have two girls two years apart add that with a pair of scissors and a vanity- well you do the math".

Cairns, Australia!

After being in chilly Sydney and Brisbane I was glad to get to some warm weather. Cairns is in Northern Australia and it was a perfect 75 degrees! We headed out to the Great Barrier Reef and spent three days basking in the sun. Jayson also got to try out his new Scuba gear. He did ten dives in three days! What did I do, I ate,I slept, and I read the hilareous Australian tabloid magazines! Ok and I did snorkel!

This last summer Jayson and I had the chance to go to Australia. Last year we started a business and one of the perks is to travel around the world! Grammy Pammy came down to watch the girls and we left for fourteen days! We started our adventures in the beautiful Sydney, then Brisbane, and finally Cairns.

Daddy's Sponge Bob Birthday!

This last June Jayson turned 30! Because our girls love everything to do with birthdays, Jayson wanted them to plan his birthday party. They decided on a Sponge Bob theme, which goes hand in hand with a man turning 30. Sage and Brandy had a blast preparing the cake and decorating the house. As his gift we let him chose some scuba diving gear(they may not have Sponge Bob flippers and goggles!) Needless to say, Jayson was thrilled. It is a parent's brightest joy seeing their children having fun!
